Had a good day,it's been a while since I last fished this area and boy has it changed. My question is this I have caught stocked trout b4 in this area and they all seemed to have white meat but today when I got home to clean my catch the meat was a little on the pink side.I filleted one and thought maybe something was wrong but all 5 fish were all the same? all 3 of us caught alot of browns between 3-6in all C&Rd,have they changed the type of trout from farm raised to another type?

A lot of that color, even most of it, comes from a pigment added to the food. You can also see it in the fat deposits, if the fish is carrying fat. Not to say that the fish won't pick up some from the natural forage but they have to be in the water for awhile for that to start.

on a side note i stared picking up wild bows upstream of there, near Barton flats. (keeping the exact places under wraps.) i do believe a few of the smaller stockers they drop in there float far enough away from there stocking point to get away from fishermen and breed. much more difficult to fool on the fly than the half functioning stockers but still less difficult than the browns. also they don't get as big as the browns do and i never catch the two species from the same run. probably the only way they survive since the browns will out compete them. keep fishin it and treat those wilds well!

Silly, you don't fillet them. Everybody knows you eat 6" browns on crackers, like sardines.

Tasty, but try them wrapped around a green olive. Crackers on the side.
