It's that time again. Time to start doing the late afternoon Castaic Lake runs.

Like a broken record, we found some action right where we left it last Fall, and the Fall before that, and the Fall before that, and so on, and so on. Basically, the fish have pushed the bait up and are trying to fatten up before the water temp cools way down. We found two areas in the Fish Arm with working fish and manged a few fish (LMBs) out of each by casting into boils or by swimming artificials tight to the shoreline. I hook and handed a 2 pounder to my daughter. She got a kick out of grinding it in. :Big Grin:

The water level was a bit lower than I thought it would be and we never really made it to our "infamous" end of the day spot. We'll save that for next visit sometime soon. It's only going to get better and better from here, on.

Until then, get out there and catch 'em, they're hungry.
