Killer day at the domes. New boat, new fisherman. Had some great catches. Anyone out there keep the Leopard's or Guitar's? Saw a few recipies, not much intersted in em though. Those guitar are a great fight, more into the catch and release to fight em another day.

Yeah we were stoked, day started trolling out Trestles on our way to the domes. Hooked a small Bonito on the way down. Than when we got to the domes and figured how to use my fish-finder   we were tagging cudas and guitars like mad. Hit on a small Calico (mini taquito at best). Did keep 4 cudas (2 1/2 feet and bigger) as well as the Bonito.

Some nice SNGF... Some people do keep them for food. I've heard they are great eating. Don't forget that the legal size for leos are 36"

Halibut Dude, please guide me. What can I do with the Leo's and sandshark? Would kill (literally) to know how to cook em, fillet em etc.

The above link should tell you how to prep shark. I've had shark a few times and I love it. The only thing is it tends to smell like ammonia if you dont bleed it properly. I also bought shark at the market once and I cooked it as soon as I got home and it smelled like ammonia. I've heard recently that if you soak the meat in coconut milk it takes the ammonia smell away. I've never tried coconut milk, but it's worth a try. If you dont like coconutt, milk might work too (but not too sure). Let me know if you try it and if possible you should try not soaking a small piece and cooking it to see if it tastes any different. BTW I like shark steaks. Sea salt, pepper, lime, paprika, garlic all mixed to form a marinade, marinade steaks or fillets 1 hr or more and then throw it on the grill. I've made it like that several times and I've been congratulated on a fine meal many times. There are tons of receipes on the net, just google shark recipe.

LA Smoker and Halibut dude, you rock. Thanks fellas. I'm new to this entire fishing gig. I know I have the right equipment with boat, poles, gear etc. Now is the experience part, like what the heck I do when I land these bad girls again. How to bleed em, how to fillet em etc. Thanks again fellas!
