Was gonna hit Seal first ,but figured if I could get a parking space on

the drive by lookie see, http://www.scsurffishing.com/forums/images/smiles/icon_lol.gif in LBC, might as well hit it up first !!! http://www.scsurffishing.com/forums/images/smiles/icon_idea.gif

Good thing, found perfect spot before sun-up. Whipped out the 9ft. Clarus

with the Drop shot rig and a Gulp 3in Minnow, and caught three Hali,s in

about two hours in this A.O. http://www.scsurffishing.com/forums/images/smiles/icon_biggrin.gif Now I know they are all shorts, and

everyone knows what they look like, but I was trying to beat my PB count

of nine, so that is why all the short pics.

N. LBC A.O. had a fair amount of bait in the area!!! Not to many

birds diving, but when I was throwing the drop, the Bait would jump,

so you knew at least they were there !!! Water was on the warm side.

SEAL BEACH A.O.

Few big kelp pods rolling around, but water was warm, fairly clear, and

in a certain fifty yard stretch ,right of the Jetty, there was a decent

trench area, which is where I happen to catch the two Hali,s. http://www.scsurffishing.com/forums/images/smiles/icon_smile.gif

Well, looks like it will either be BC or LBC or both for me tomorrow,

cuz still goin for a legal before this month runs out http://www.scsurffishing.com/forums/images/smiles/icon_lol.gif

Awesome catch report... looks like you were on them!

I just started surf fishing this weekend and was fishing the same spot with a 2" Gulp bloodworm, Carolina style. Can you give me an idea of what a dropshot rig looks like. I would like to try it next time I'm out in 2 weeks.

kokak,
try searching youtube for "dropshot", or something to that effect.
i think Kevin VanDam has a pretty good tutorial on there explaining what to do & why.
you'll need to know how to tie a Palomar knot. it's pretty simple & i'm sure you can find a "how to" for that on youtube as well (if you don't already know how to tie it).

Hi ya fishshep,

A very nice Hali count ....all short but still....a lot of fun! :Thumbs Up:

I personally stick with the LC, so I'll let someone else chime in and help you with the "Drop Shot" method. It's easy!

Thanx for the fun read with pic's!
