boat covers

Hey - I'm going to make a custom boat cover out of ripstop (parachute) material. Cost will be $5 per yard (5' wide). I like this material because it's light and strong and will be very easy to get on and off the boat.

Does anybody have experience with ripstop? Not sure how long it will last but I thought it would be worth a shot.

It has a very tight weave and may be water resistant but I'm not concerned about the boat getting wet... My main concern is to keep the bird poop, dust and blowing leaves off the boat when it's sitting in my driveway.
