I caught this fish at Lake Mamie in Mammoth a couple weeks ago. Is it a sucker or a whitefish? :???: The mouth was pretty small.

Lol, it's an invisifish. And with that small mouth, it must be in the sucker family...

It's a trouser trout. You can tell by how the photo didn't come out. They aren't very photogenic...

Oh it's one of those fish, catch them all the time. Always reel in with no bait on my hook but fish was definitely there but you couldn't see it, because it's an invisifish like Hawg said

Ok I can't go on like this, are you gonna post a pic of the fish, or are we gonna have to sit here and guess through a few thousand species of fish(some of which don't exist) until we hit the one you caught.

By the pic its really hard to tell,most likely something in the perch family....

Maybe...but I don't know of any perch that look like that in the sierras. I'm thinking maybe mountain whitefish or owens river sucker?

caught those in june lake, i figured they were whitefish too. caught a million of them on the salmon river in Idaho and it certainly looks like one.

That's a chub. There's tons of them in June and Gull lake, but I didn't realize they were in the Mammoth lakes area as well.
