Headed out w kaeda714 to the rock hopping hole.arrived at 5:30 to low tide....no bueno...pretty slow Fishing for about an hour then kaeda hooks up to a tiny sandy...no love for me on the hammer so i switch to dropshot gulp minnow then BAM!! I catch a nice spottie

Not much more happening so we start heading out then another hookup!!! Wtf?! Lol

The second fish looks like a baby grass rock fish.

With the Bass counts looking low lately, I say great job on the spotty!

Yeah i figured it was some type of rock Fish.pretty feisty for being so small.

Yeah thanks skunked.Bass Fishing has been pretty slow for me,i heard about the dredgeing in nph,it sux.i hope that place recovers quick!

Baby widdle grass rockfish. That would make such an awesome aquarium fish!

The dredging isnt all too bad, it will take less than a year to regrow, and will also force spotties to colonize new areas. Keep in mind the spawn is also over, so they are more isolated now.

I went last sunday and only got one small male at balboa.. I'm going to look elsewhere for a while. Spotfins and beans are showing strong. Headed to newps tomorrow for some surf fishing with my niece.

Might stick to HB instead.

Ah a dredge, that explains the tough times in zooport. Does anyone know what type of dredge they're doing. Do they have a pipe pumping sand somewhere near the shoreline? Or is it a barge kinda dredge?

Im not exactly sure what areas are being dredged but i heard Fishing by the bait barge is still pretty decent....
