Current Crowley perch from shore?

Currently at mammoth and need a bit of help. Wife's first time here and she caught the fishing bug for the first time ever so I am very very grateful as it is another activity we can enjoy together.

Quick question. I would like to take her to Crowley to jig fish for perch. Is this a good/productive time for that from shore? And is so, any particular location?
