went to Castaic for the first time this year. I did not see any boils the whole morning, just saw some lmb jumps in the early. switched to lead-core then hooked up 1 little shad on my fly hahaha...beat the skunk

I will come back again next month.

4 colors the bathroom near Kong island. ton of baits on the meter (30-40ft). I might be snagged it from the schools. I would say 1.5 inches shad.

Did you utilize spinning or casting gear?

Were you using 18 lb test?

About how long did it take to land that fish?

27lbs test not 18 lbs...LOL...took 1 hour.... to land that fish since I was winding to leave.

Well it sounds like you might be fishing at about the right depth.
