Decided to shoot to Seal Beach for a two hour session

6am. feet landed on the sand to see hundreds of birds in the

distance from where I was fishing, diving on the bait at the end

of Seal Beach Jetty http://www.scsurffishing.com/forums/images/smiles/icon_eek.gif I do not know about you, but this old dog ain,t

rock hoppin to the end of a jetty, even if I see 40in . Hali,s jumpin

out of the water !!! http://www.scsurffishing.com/forums/images/smiles/icon_lol.gif http://www.scsurffishing.com/forums/images/smiles/icon_lol.gif That,s for them young Puppies !!! http://www.scsurffishing.com/forums/images/smiles/icon_lol.gif http://www.scsurffishing.com/forums/images/smiles/icon_lol.gif

Went to do a short try at Cabrillo, after Seal, for a Skunk though http://www.scsurffishing.com/forums/images/smiles/icon_rolleyes.gif

Stopped at this new Tackle place (for me) on Gaffy, right when you make

the left turn off the Fwy. They did have a good selection of Gulp Products,

but nothing special other than that!

That is definitely a Diamond Turbot...very common and have caught many in the bays and harbors. They fight great!

Good job buddy!
I gotta say that I have seen very few Turbot caught from the sand in all of my years pounding the surf. As a matter of fact none of my friends have ever accomplished landing one from the surf. Only from a boat in NPH. Give yourself a pat on the back Daniel. Even though you didn't feel the energy to hop the jetty now you can.....You are "Turbot" charged....LOL (Ya know the "T" is silent).....
Yeah.... I know....Bad joke!

Hope to see you at HGIV buddy!

The activity you saw with all the birds diving good be caused by Dolphins. Both in an out of the harbor we have come on 20 -50 dolphins feeding and playing causing the birds to go nuts. On Wednesday just outside the Wall a pod of dolphins continued to circle our boat for 15 - 20 minutes some coming with in 5 yards of our boat. It was an amazing site.

That right there is one of the most delicious fishes on earth.

Superior table fare over halibut IMO!

Its a shame they like polluted areas..
