Hey everyone,

I have been looking into getting a Sevylor inflatable boat to use locally. Has anyone had any experience with the Fish Hunter series of the Sevylors? I was looking at the 3 seater HF250 model. I have seen how people can customize them by putting in a wooden floor to make it stable enough to stand on and I really want to do that! There is a bunch of youtube vids on the Sevylor boats and I found a great deal to get one so I am truly tempted. If anyone has any input, please comment. Thanks!

Hey, that actually looks pretty awesome.. except the price! Haha thats a little too much out of my price range. I found the Sevylor HF250 for $110 on eBay. So that cost plus some plywood and hardware is what I am comparing to. So overall im looking to spend about $200 max. Thanks for the tip tho Big!

I have one in storage and it's a POS, no way can you hold more than 1 person without almost flipping the rig unless your 150 or less each. Just get a tube and fish like your sitting in gramps old chair IN STYLE!

I just bought an inflateable while I was in Tahoe so we could hit some of the hard to get into lakes- ones with 4x4 roads- and the trailered Valco wouldn't make it into. Also, we wanted to float down the river. After research, I found an intex mariner (800 lb -4 person) for $210. complete with a floor, oars, and a pump (going to use my portable tire pump from off roading). I got the warrantee for 2 years- will replace free of charge, so total, it was about $260 ish. I pumped it up yesterday and cruised LB harbor. It was awesome! Now I am looking at a little electrical trolling motor [MinnKota RipTide 45 S Transom Mount Trolling Motor (45lbs Thrust, 36" Shaft)] for fresh and salt to put on my Valco and inflateable. :) it's aTON of fun.

Karyn,
Thanks for the post! That is exactly how I want mine some day. I like that Intex one, especially the weight capacity. I am a big guy (6'2 300 lbs) so I need a solid inflatable if I want to stay out of the water. I am leaning more towards the Sevylar HF 280 just for that reason, the HF 250 is too small for me. I found a new one on Craigslist for cheap so I might get it this weekend and start working on a custom set up. If I miraculously find an Intex Mariner for cheap, I might have to change plans though!
