Four of us went up in the morning; two on a kayak, and two from the shore next to the dam. Bagged 11 'bow's in about 3 hours.

They were hitting hard on pink Berkeley Gulp! worms. Also light success on green power bait (1) and crawlers (4).

Another kayaker mentioned he was trolling a wedding ring with crawler on the hook, and had bagged limits each of the past three mornings.

Either way, Courtright is hot right now. The dam is the hot spot, but the sunny side of the island was working pretty good too.

Recommend a visit to Shaver Lake Sports before you go for the most up to the minute info.

Courtright Res. is always hot from the end of June through the end of August. Bait near the dam and trolling near the island. Wedding Rings, blades w/crawler, Needlefish w/a small piece of crawler, all from a leadcore rig 2 to 4 colors down.
Early mornings flatlining works too.
Glad you had a great time up there as I've been going there for over 45 years.
Ever try Wishon Res. where the Kings River enters? Always hot fishing there with at least one brown trout in a daily limit!
