I arrived at the lake around 6pm on Friday night. After settling in Big Daddy, Thisfool, and I hit the water for the night to see if we could scout out some big fish for the tourney the next day. Almost as soon as the sun set the fish started biting and didn't stop until Jerry was chasing us off the lake just before 12am. We ended the night with plenty of fresh fish for Big Daddy's Boat & Grill "Fish Fry" the next day.

We hung out around the campsite but by 3am most everybody had gone to sleep for the night. Like clockwork I woke up at 6am and couldn't go back to sleep. When I got out of my van I could see Hitts, Big Daddy & his boat were no where to be seen. What a trooper and a true fishing warrior Big Daddy is. Three hours of sleep and he was back out on the water trying to get people on fish, what a class act.

I slowly started to set thing's up in the picnic area and thanks to the help of Bobber Boy, Cindy, HBAR, and others we really ran like a well oiled machine. Most of all I want to give props to HBAR's 16 year old daughter who we dubbed "Sunshine HBAR". She was very excited to help out and did an amazing job doing so through out the day, thank you.... you were a true asset to the event!

All the food and salsa was amazing and thank you to everyone who contributed! The potluck/BBQ was a ton-o-fun and life long memories were forge for all!

New Team 57 members of 2012 introduction!

By 6pm everyone had hit the water and me being one of the last ones to go out I ran into Wingnut who stopped by to say hello to everyone and eat some of the good food. Unfortunetly most everyone had hit the water already and filled up there to-go containers so there wasn't much food left but it was nice talking with you and a BIG, BIG thanks for the Bluetooths that S.W.A.T. donated for the raffle. I can't wait for the Hunting the Giants event in Oct!

After that my Wife and I hit the water and anchored up in the same spot as the night before close by Big Daddy's boat & Co.. I had just enough time to take this picture of an amazing rainbow before yet another beautiful Vine sunset!

With all the heavy fishing pressure the bite wasn't happening like the night before so by 10pm everyone had moved on to find better spots. We did the same and I anchored up in the same spot I had success the week before. I put on some Bite-On Mackeral my Daugther had won in the raffle and finally we were on a steady bite. My Wife was very excited and after about an hour we had 6 fish and many more missed. We decided to head in as it was about time to award the trophies for Big Fish & Runner Up.

By 1am the Vine scales had closed on the KoTC's 3rd qualifier, the "Mid Summer Night's Dream" and our very own Catfish Co-op. Team 57 was well represented with the Irvine Lake Aquatics Diving Team "Hometown & Brotown", and Team Trolltoon in the winners circle (I hope I'm not forgetting anyone).

Wouldn't you know it, the catfish fishing kings of the world filled out the winners circle in our Catfish Co-op and took the two top spots! Congrats boys!

I'd like to send out a BIG thanks to our many great sponsors and people who contributed to this event! I'd like to sincerely thank each and every Vine employee for everything they always do for us and helping to make this such a successful event! and most of all I'd like to thank each and every person who attended this event as there wouldn't possible without you attendance and contributions!

Stay tuned for many future events. We have big plans and want to build off the success of this great event! Each and every person lived up to the mantra of "Family, Friends, Fun, & Fishing! We look foward to seeing y'all at the next get together!

Steve, thanks so much for the report and additonal pictures!

I want to start out by saying that all of you who worked so hard to put this event together along with all of the sponsors, everyone who brought food and other items as well as everyone who made donations to the raffle made the Catfish Co-op III a success.
I have very fond memories of the events Dana organized and I stood back several times to notice something similar to those past get togethers.....I saw a lot of familiar faces once again having a lot of fun and also welcoming a few new faces to the Team. I saw more good food than I could imagine in one spot at one time. But most important I saw Families and Friends once again coming together. Great job everyone!

Now I've got to give a shout out to Bob "BEBOP" Barr..........Bob that is one beautiful custom rod that you donated to the raffle and I have to say I was honored to take it home! While you were telling me the history behind the rod the whole time I was thinking I know this rod from somewhere and I just couldn't figure out where? Well the next morning my daughter was checking it out and said Dad this looks just like "Lucky Blue" Then it hit me......It is an almost identical twin to the rod she had when she would fish the creeks with me. We went out in the garage and got old "Lucky Blue" and they are almost identical! Her next comment to me was....."Well dad now that I have a new cat rod when are we going?":Envious:

One last comment I have to make is that Trolly and I are very honored to have been lucky enough to take the First and Second Place Trophies home. I know they will be constant reminders of Dana, Team 57 and Family, Friends, Fun and Fishing!:Thumbs Up:

Great event. Thanks for the effort.
Bobber Boy (John) did the pulled pork. It's the "secret sauce" that made it great, oh and the the hours in the smoker. It was rather good, wasn't it.
