Well where do i start? Almost every year for the past four years we go on a one week family trip to catalina to go fishing and hang out. This time my friend Griffy was allowed to join us and we were going to go for yellows and bass for the whole week. The first day there my brother and i fished the pier and we killed the calicos. The Green pier holds almost a nonstop calico bite 24/7. So for the rest of the day we fished the pier and had a good time. The next day we were planned to fish with one of our friends Roger Cadman that weve known for a while and i caught my very first 25 lb yellow with him. He took us to search for a few yellows but with no luck. We then drifted for halibut and i got a nice legal but i threw it back. Roger told us the week would be slow since there has been no live squid. After that we went to go pick up Griffy from the dock since he was arriving at 10:30. After picking up Griffy we fished the pier again and we killed the calicos with a few nicer grade fish. The next morning we fished with Roger again and we only caught a Bonito and calico bass and i hooked into a 40 plus pound yellow that i farmed  . We then came back and we fished the mole and griffy caught one of his biggest calicos to date a nice 4lber. :D After fishing the mole we headed for the pier and Griff and i found out a new way of fishing the pier and it payed off really well and we caught some nice bass and hooked a few big bat rays and a short halibut. I would tell you how we fished but i cant since no one does it and i want it to be our secret  . On our final day of fishing we awoke at 4 in the morning and meet Roger at the pier and we had a nice tank full of fresh live squid :D. All i say is it PAYED OFF.!!!! We must of hooked 12 fish and we landed 6 but we had 2 to gaff and we accidently hit the hook out of the mouth but whatever. These were nice grade fish and Griff got 2 nice 15 lbers and i got a 19 -20 lber. My dad got the biggest one of the trip with a solid 23 lb fish and Roger got 2 nice 18 lb fish :D . All in all it was an excellant trip and i cant wait to go back. Go get em

Looks like you had a good time fishing. Sorry to hear about the "40lb yellow" you farmed.

Congrats to you all.

When the pics are smaller and rotated to the correct angle, I'll look for silly things to mention about them, not a moment sooner.

Thanks for the report.

Great report!

Now I'll be waiting for your report in the recipes section. Give us full details with a picture of the fish on a plate after it's cooked.

Hey - easy way to resize the pics is to open them in microsoft paint, click on "image", click on "stretch/skew" then type in how much you want to reduce, horizontal and vertical...
