With the Power Plant on the last few weeks and 2 stacks blowing last couple days
I was hoping for some Bones or Macs but nothing in the last 3 weeks.
5 total pm trips to JCS and the bubble for No Bites. No bird or seal action either.
Today they shut off the power plant, no steam seen.
Tossed LCs, Krocs, Kastmasters. Maybe some macs at the Horeshoe pier but never checked. Saw 6 boats outside KH at the canyon edge today?

Seems like it ought to WFO at night on the Macs & maybe Bones

at the end of that park area, with this hot weather ?

They'll come around eventually DR. In the meantime, why not try for some Opies?

I'll pass on the Opies. The whole trick is the bait presence or lack of.
Seals sleeping on the barge and birds sitting on the breakwall = Bad Fishing.
Usually hit it 6 to 7:30 pm once a week. 1 1/2 hours.

They have a nice car show every friday by Ruby's 4pm to 7, 8ish for you car guys.

Scored a 24" Halibut, 1 @ 20" Halibut and a 32" Barracuda, few sand bass fishing the kelp with anchovies after work 2 weeks ago. Got ripped by 2 big mystery fish too.

The broomtail grouper were coming up between the boat and bait barge for sardines that had fallen over last Saturday. Cool sight to see!

The Redondo power plant uses the ocean for cooling. Then pumps it into the harbor (the bubble).
Warms up the harbor water and draws bait in. In the past it would make the fishing better for Bonito (bones), Mackerel (macs) and occasional Yellowtail.
JCS = Joes Crab Shack
canyon = Redondo Canyon
Opies = Opaleye (fish)
Broomtail Grouper (giant sea bass)

Those fish were caught off PV (south side) on live anchovies on my boat.
