Jenks Lake 8-4-12

First time at Jenks Lake and for SoCal what a beautiful lake!
Showed up late in the afternoon, the docks were full so we moved across to the middle of the lake. The bite was no where to be found until around 5ish I was able to hook up with one nice size trout. In the mean time my daughter and I were having fun catching Small bluegills and dinky Bass with thin Senkos wacky rigged.
If you're going to Jenks soon my only advice is keep your leader line long 2-3 ft. and cast as far as possible, that what seemed to work for others. Cheers!

Thanks for the tip about the leaders. I've fished up there a couple times in the last few weeks. It seems like the bite consistently dies down around noon and doesn't come back until 4 or 5 PM. I was leaving at 4:30 last week and a few people were just showing up for the evening bite. Don't know how they did.

For us, last week, it was all about inflated 1/2 crawlers 4-5' below bobber. We were fishing from North shoreline, mid lake.
