Home made lure

Has anybody attempted to make a home made lure I was reading a book on fishing and it has a section about making a home made crankbait I thought it would be a fun time killer to try it out has anybody ever attempted it

you might try by making a swimbait first...it would be alot easier then making a crankbait. Get an old broom handle and make a floating rat or a trout . All it takes to get started is a piece of broom handle, a knife, sand paper, and some paint. Then you can add the screwin eyelet and hook holders and add hooks and youre ready to go..
