So as Ive said in the past, Summer fishing at Perris is one of the funnest times of the year!!
Yesterday was no different.. AL told me he wanted to go put the hurt on some Perris bass so I got him out there and we did just that..
For those of you that dont know, Perris is one of the best lakes around during the summer with great numbers and great quality of bass being caught.
During the week at Perris the lake gets very little presure (Yes even during the summer). Monday thru Thurs the lake gets hardly any presure..Fridays get a decent amount of presure but it still doesnt hurt the fishing.
But yesterday the lake was basically empty and the Summer Structure fishing couldnt have gotten any better!!

AL called me in the morning and told me he was going to be about 30 minutes late so I launched the boat and fished around the launch ramp while I waited for him...in that time I caught 1 solid 3lb topwater bass and 3 dropshot bass.. when AL got in the boat at 6:30 I was already up 4-0 on him hahahha..
So off we go.. we get to our first spot and the shad are dimpling on the surface with an occasional boil and we start firing our reaction baits...within minutes all heck breaks loose and we begin to put a hurt on them... We were literally getting bit almost every cast and landing nice healthy Perris summer bass..
Then Al tells me that he has to sit through a confence call meeting from the back of my boat... So while we continued to catch bass after bass the meeting was on speaker phone in the back of my boat all the while the boss continued to catch bass..hahaha

Finally that bite slowed down and the "meeting" ended so we made our move to deep water....thats when we began to put an EPIC hurt on the Perris bass. We pulled up, I drop a bouy and it was game on!!!
We caught over 40 bass for the day and our best 5 bass weighed over 29lbs. My 2 big bass of the day weighed 7 1/2lbs and 6 1/4 lbs and ALs two biggest weighed 6 1/2 lbs and 5 3/4 bs... we also had 2 more over 5 lbs and about six that weighed in the 4 lb range and the rest were 2-4 lbs..... we put a severe hurt on them with multiple double hookups.
The bite lasted until 2pm when we finally decided to call it a day. When we ended the day the wind was kicking pretty good... but the damage was already done... WE SLAYED THE BASS!!!
here are a couple pics of what my graph looked like at different times of day..

You can see the bass streaking down after my bait in this one...EXCITING!!!

We caught our bass early in 4-15 ft of water on reaction baits..
Then deep in 30-45ft later on carolina rig, dropshot, Spoons and tailspins.

If you are on the fence about a trip to Perris NOW IS THE TIME guys!! Call me or PM me and Ill get you out there for some Summer Fun!!!

DAMN PETE, what PIGS!!
Love you plucking the pigs and piglets!!! As always, Pete knows this lake like the back of his hand and if you want to kill them during the summer, SEE PETE ASAP!! I know I was glad I did. I am going to give it a try this Friday since my oldest daughter (19) for the first time after many requests wants to go and catch some fish. We will see.............More to follow if we score..............
