Is sinking brushpiles illegal in california? I don't hear much about anglers doing it here.

They put them in Lake Perris all the time.

Thanks for your input castle, Im aware of those but I always assumed that the lake staff put those ones in? Is it ok for anglers to sink our own?

if the public does it, it's littering and a stream bed alteration infraction, which is citeable without proper approval. The CDFG does fisheries habitat improvement projects in certain waters such as Perris and Elsinore.

my uncle is the lake manager of big bear and they do it for crappie and bass

lake Isabella they have placed cristmas trees in wire cages for many years, those ore called the cages and thats where the crappie are in the spring if they are biting there could be many boats hanging around them.

Every lake I have ever seen has them, whether they are legal or not, IDK
