NEW in box Pflueger Patriach 9525 spinning reels. $199.95 at Bass Pro/Cabelas etc.
I used to use the Japanese Daiwa Luvias 1003 and Presso 1003 for my UL fishing. I switched over to the Patriach completely. Bought a bunch of these and now these my family's standard UL reels. We got back ups but never had to use them as we have none break. Bought more than I needed so putting two out for sale. At 5.6 oz, they are basically the same weight as the Daiwa Luvias 1003 but they are a lot stronger in terms of rigidity and durability. (The Shimano Stradic 1000 with Cl4 material weigh about 10% more than this at 6.1 oz.) The center shaft is easily twice the thickness of the Daiwa 1003 and made of solid titanium. The magnesium body is also much stiffer. I believe this helps a bit in sensitivity. It's basically the size of the Shimano 1000 or Daiwa 1003 rather than the tiny size 500 reels.
We use ours with 2 lbs Sunline Fluoro and 2 lbs Maxima Green.
By the way, new means new with all the original papers and spare spools.
