7/17 Newport harbor/Corona Del Mar Jetty CLOSED due to surf

Tropical storm is bringing in intermittent 3 sets, funny to watch people with phones and cameras getting too close on the beach side and getting soaked when they weren't expecting it:EyePop:, the newport jetty and corona break wall are closed due to high surf. so if your planning on trying to fish there, hit the harbor instead...

thanks, it was on frozen squid on a dropper loop setup, have a friend with a boat and we usually put a few lines out behind it when we hang out at the slip, theres always a healthy number of big spotties right under the pylons to jig and drop for, but she actually had to swim out into deeper water to take the squid, maybe 20-30 feet out into the channel.
