So I was sitting around on Monday afternoon cleaning up the boat from my tournament at Castaic on Friday night and decided to head over to Perris to get the boat tagged for the coming week. I figured that since we were gonna be there we might as well fish until about 8 pm..so I hooked up the boat and off we went.
By the time I got to the launch ramp after getting inspected and stopping at the store for a couple drinks it was almost 6:30.
This is what the lake looked like from the Perris store..

It was completely white capped out because the wind was blowing 25-30mph.
The weather said it was going to lay down around 7pm so we launched the boat and off we went... By now its about 6:45..
We get to the spot and the wind is still kickin.. but I drop a couple bouys to mark my spot and we start firing casts.
On this quick trip I brought My wife Carissa , My Daughter Skyler and James (Bassgrabber).
Carissa and Skyler decided to wait a little while to fish because the waves were still splashing from the wind but me and James hopped up front and began looking for some bass. I started with the Ice Jig and James opted for the Dropshot....
Within minutes I get one on the Ice jig.. Then I switch to the Dropshot and I get one right away... Then James gets one on the dropshot as well... Then I hook another on the dropshot but it snaps me 1/2 way up because I was trying to horse it in. :Embarrassed: It was a good one too..
Then James misses a couple bites and then I get a good one on the icejig.
By that time it was almost 730 and the wind was just beginning to calm down some. Thats about the time that Carissa and SKyler decided to fish.
Skyler was armed with her trusty Princess rod rigged with a dropshot... Within minutes SHES ON!!! Her princess rod was bent in half as a good Perris largemouth fights in deep water.. She continued to fight it for a couple minutes as this fiesty bass continues to take line and fight for its life...FINALLY she gets it next to the boat and Carissa reached down and lipped it for her, then gave it to her..ITS A GOOD ONE.. A SOLID 4lb Perris Bass!!!
AND THE BIG BASS OF THE DAY!!!
Here are some pics of my babygirl fighting her 4lber and then posing with it before releasing it unharmed to fight another day..
The fight!!

We left about 8pm.. We only were there for about an hour and 15 minutes but we made good use of our time and hammered those Perris Bass..
All of our bass were caught in 35-40ft of water... plastics and Icejigs..
Guys, if I can get a 5 year old to catch them, I can get you on them as well!!! Call me and book your trip with me to Perris and come experience deep structure Summer fishing at its finest!!!
