Motion of the ocean tonight 8/23.....L.B. Mack Attack

Well, I finally took the pirate himself out on a REAL pirate adventure. My wife joined us for her 1st ride on the new boat as well. We launched from HHat 6pm, and the wind swells were UGLY. Gnarly seas that made for a wet & rough ride.


We putted over to L.B. Breakwater and started trolling Krocs & Rapalas.
We were anxious to boat as many Mack-Attacks as possible, to use as bait this Sat at the Irvine event.
Both Beerboy and I caught macks and BB caught a nice lil Boney.
We farmed several macks, when BB hooks something big just outside the breakwater. He was trolling his 6lb trout outfit, so this thing took him on several nice runs, and his rod was seriously bendoed!

Turns out to be a fat-***** 'cuda. (Fitting that BEERcuda finally catches a BARRIcuda!LOL)

We were debating wether to CPR or keep it, gaff it or net it. So we decided to CPR, but my baby trout net was wayyyyy small. We were contriving different ways to grab his thing safely when I decided to just "Scoop it up in thge middle" with my net....Well, apparently, nobody tokd Mr, gar, to bend in half to facilitate my netting attempt. So as I raised this 36" cuda out of the water, he just straddled my lil net like a log!LOL I was DYING laughing :rofl: as the thing was HEAVY and just flopped off as I strained to lift it.

Anyway, I ended up netting the front half, and manhandled the tail.

Hey Greg,

I had a blast yesterday, even being soaked head to toe out there...Very nice setup/boat I must say!! Perfect killing machine.. I must be one sick pirate...lol Gotta love those beeracudas... thanks for the invite, I will more than likely see you saturday for round two... That was some funny stuff trying to get him in the boat with a trout net.... COMEDY!! Ironically that Beeracuda was caught on 6lb MONO!!! I had to wear him out before he wore my line out... LOL Played him perfectly for about 10 minutes.... ARRRRRR!!!!!

Hey Farmy, funny u mentioned that since, JUST after I snapped that pic, BC said, " I think that might be my next avatar!" LOL!!!

It was way fun! I am going to have a hard time sleeping tonight with another SW trip for tomorrow morning and Legends in the afternoon.

BTW- I should have plenty of MAckarel to give out for the Kitty fishing, so, bring a cooler!
