Hello there boys and girls.

Today my dear anglers I present to you another action packed IF2L reports. Take a seat, grab a snack, and relax as you read this oh so very wonderful post. Alrighty then, let us begin!

My day started at 1000 with my uncle pestering me to go down to Redondo for some fishing action. The original plan was to hop on board the Special', but due to the lack of fish counts that idea went out that crapper. So, he, I, and my cousin decided to fish the rocks instead for some Opaleyes and other misc. species. For the most part fishing was acceptable but certainly not WFO! The “catching” was consistent throughout most of the afternoon with a bite on every cast. The only difficult part was hooking those obese green perch. Our catch consisted of garbage, Opaleyes ranging from 3"-7.2589202", kelp, crustaceans, and did I mention that we caught garbage? Oh and I'd like to mention that everything we caught today was CPR'd "Catch, Photograph, and RELEASE!"

At 1230 we arrived to the destination of promise with visions of… well actually I don’t think we were expecting to catch much.

The first hook up and successful catch was executed by my little cousin.

This was a pretty fat one.

Big or small I’ll take any size!

The little guy was hunting for crabs and spotted something big.

Here is a cooler shot, and don’t worry we did not keep this guy, really we did not.

Alright, here is where the report gets good. About 2 hours into our Opaleye I decided to try my luck with some rockfish that would be lurking in where else? Well, the rocks of course. And…

That WAS a cool report,we used to catch a lot of those opies around the rocks in Palos Verde, great to see that Bug go back in the water.
After releasing that tasty critter I think I too would have stopped somewhere for some crab,or lobster also. Thanks for the report.

Thanks WWO. My little cousin was more thrilled with catching crabs than Opaleyes, but I'll eventually get him to come around.

Thanks bachiboy! At first I thought I had hooked into a big Sculpin but man was I wrong!

I'm surprised you didn't go for spotties!

I did try for spotties, but I came up empty handed. I then switched over for small Sculpin and ended up with this beauty.

Great report. You guys had lots of fun. :Applause:
I used to fish there too for opaleyes using green peas, those guys are very very sneaky. There are a lot, but not the big ones.
And that roach is amazing, how did you get that. Great Job.
Applause for the CPR.

Jinbow, thank you. The larger Opaleyes are just too spooky for me to hook as the smaller guys usually get to my bait first. For the bug, she grabbed my jighead x squid combo and I somehow managed to hook one of her legs.
