Whats up guys headed out to Palos Verdes to fish for some calicos, was nice and calm throughout the morning, got a little windy by noon but not too bad. Headed out of Huntington Harbor and right near the PCH bridge by girlfriend and I get a double hookup, i was using my 6lb rig tossing a green pumpkin gitzit, got slammed when it hit the water and had a fun little fight with this 17" Spottie

we stopped and got bait, but i opted to stick with plastics all day, mainly in the kelp i was using scampi split tail with a variety of colors, got a calico and and a johnny bass using Hot pink and a neon green lure.

later my girlfriends grandpa hooks a TOAD 20" calico(he always falls asleep and catches the biggest fish)

Hi ya Norma Stitz,

Looked to be a beautiful day to be out on the water.... and also....a full basket of fine looking checkers and spoties
that all of you hooked up with! A nice bounty indeed! WTG! :Thumbs Up:
 Ha ha ha.....what you said about your "girlfriends grandpa hooks a TOAD 20" calico(he always falls asleep and catches the biggest fish)"
.....it's funny how it always seems to work out that way!

It sounds like good times and good memories were shared all around by all!

Thanx for the fish report with pic's!

Dude nice fish!

I would be wary about keeping Spotties though since from everything I've read they seem to keep more mercury in their bodies than other saltwater bass species.

chill day pulling on the bass. glad you had fun

JUST

DONT KEEP SPOTTYS!Ah there's nothing wrong with keeping a spottie every now and then.

Done it myself several times. That fish was pretty much at the end of its life, anyway!

Man that thing must have given you some strong headshakes!
