well... Castaic lake was having their moonlight fishing event last night from 8pm to 2am. We went once last year and skunked, but had a great time anyways. This year was no different...
got in line around 7:30pm:

only a slight breeze here and there, and the hot Valley temps started to cool down quickly once the sun set over the mountains:

made our way in and walked 1/2 way across the dam and setup 4 poles with various worms. Used my 1 oz egg sinker c-rig again with size 4 baitholder hooks and chucked them out as far as I could. There were plenty of boats that had taken off to far parts of the lake. There were maybe 10-12 different groups of fishermen spread across the dam.
Brought our headlamps, portable LED lantern, plenty of muchies, and some blankets... was nice and comfy, and the Mrs. was happy that there weren't any bugs/mosquitos to fend off :LOL:
anyways, didn't take many pics of the scene since it was dark.
had a few short bites that I missed, but didn't have a problem setting the hook on this guy... fought really hard... made a few drag-pulling runs once it got close to shore... but made the Mrs. happy that we didn't skunk again :LOL::LOL:
Probably close to 3 lbs... we packed up and left around 1:30am...

I don't know how everyone else did, especially the guys on the boats... but thanks for reading!
