Hey all,

I was just wondering what the crack are these little worm like creatures on the cats. I only see them on the cats we catch by the trees in the flats.

Do they look like the pic? If they are use them for bait on a #4 ocotpus hook.

Don't know if it's the same thing or not, but something called an anchor worm used to attach itself to Big Bear trout when the water got warm. It would attach to the skin, but not burrow down into the meat. In late summer trout would sometimes have 3 or 4 attached to them.

They were a little thinner than that. Kinda greenish as well. What the heck is that?

This sounds about right? there were a bunch of em though. About 8 on the cat that I was cleaning...They were only attached to the ones caught by the trees though...

They are just a small leech or anchor worm no need to worry about them they do not effect the meat or the fish in any way.
