(1st off-sorry for the late report – still waiting on pics from cutbait who also has videos-anyone else who has pics please forward me ur e-mail and I’ll upload)



Wow again what to say, another fun event.

I want to start by thanking each of you for showing up, man that was some fun.

The fishing was tough at times for more than a few including myself but there were many who took those cards that were dealt and turned them around and made a serious slay out of the day..

Our results:

DK4885 took top honors in the BIG FISH and HEAVIEST STRINGER categories…

Those two wins netted him both of the prized StriperFest trophies..

His stringer weighing in at: 24 lbs 6 ounces.

His biggest fish weighing in at: 5 lbs 1 ounce



The crews that followed in the heaviest stringer category weighed in at the following respectively:

Mikes Ocean: 22 lbs . 25 ounces – topped by a 3.15 lbder
CutBait: 14 lbs .75 ounces - topped by a 2 .75 lbder
Fishinone: 14 lbs .05 ounces
Logg0420: 13 lbs .15 ounces
Ezra: 12 lbs .75 ounces
Razor: 4 lbs .80 ounces – topped by a 2.60 lbder
Trailblazer: 1 lb .20 ounces

I must tip my hat to you all, you made it happen on an otherwise tuff bite….

The small fish trophy and honors went to none other than Geordybass’s Dad: Jorge
His 4ounce stripey took home the banana small fish trophy this time out…

Wooo-hoo..
Congrats !

His 10 fish limit topped the scales at 4 lbs .25 ounces…

And ALL his catches were caught on 18 lb test !

And you all think I’m pokin’ fun at him….well no….he beat me on this day…

DK4885 also brought something else home…

20 dollars…..from my wallet!

We had a little side bet for biggest fish …..he took it without waiver..
I know I will get and deserve to hear some flack….

This event always goes well with the wonderful park staff’s help..

Tammy and Mark, you’re both top notch in all our eyes and we always appreciate your efforts to assure us of a great event..

Again, thank you for the raffle contributions of some free boat rentals and car and launch passes…..DAYAM SWEET : )


You both were so cool to also supply our otherwise shorebound fisherman a rental boat to get them out on the water, we cannot thank you enuff for that and ALL the things you do, we consider you part of the family, no event would be the same without you present and you’re always welcome at our campfire !


Hiro and I checked out the pyramid store at lunchtime and had some BOMB tri-tip sandwiches…..DELICIOUS !
The store was well stocked with whatever you might need (great job pyramid lake)



Another huge thanks goes out to each of the participants, thank you for showing up..

Thank you for your raffle contributions…thus ensuring everyone walked away with a nice striper oriented prize pack.

Most of you I’ve seen before, it’s heartwarming to see the group get closer and closer at each event, this is why I began these events….to bring people together..

Good job to all of you !


I’ll point out that the aftermath is just as much fun as the fishing….we had some good times out there..

We had some trophy presentations along with some good times and smack talk..

We had some fishing songs…

A little beer to fuel up the smack talkin’

Followed by MORE good times !


I encourage more people to stay later as the fun gets really in gear as the night burns on…


I have wonderful memories of each of these events.

I also want to again thank Steve Gallion from Gallions corner for his generous contributions to our free raffle….I’ll ask that you all thank him when you see him.


Also: Andrew (forgot your screen name) you hung in there brotha….like a trooper, we stayed up and told fishing lies for some time all while washing down some beers…followed by more live music/guitar jamming..

I’m still looking for any Fnn’rs who sing or play to join me in some fishing songs : )

Andrew and DK4885: Did you find my Capo for my guitar when you left ? ( a black clamp on “c” clamp looking thing for my guitar)

Thanks for the update Gary, these events are a lot of fun for everyone involved.

I thought I might have been in 4th.

I'm happy, I fished half a day and only weighed 8 fish.

Now I wish I hadn't thrown that dink that I caught in Yellow Bar, at T/O. :Big Grin:

I don't think it weighed 3/4 pound though, it probably wouldn't have changed the results.

Andrew (AKA Bob Marley) hung out with me long after anyone else could hang (POWER to you bro)

But as all others always do…this soldier was destined to fall and there can be “ONLY ONE”

I was left holding down the fort around 2-2:30am

He hung in there strong.

He stayed up and drank tequila with me as I jammed live guitar...song after song but I was destined to finish the bottle..

It isn’t quite what appears in the photo….he avoided the downfall by a hair but I was concerned…hence the ripped open 12 pack carton just in case..

He made it through and was sleeping….snoring as I took these cell phone pics..
