Balboa Pier report

Hi all,

Thinking of hitting up the pier in the next few days and was wondering if it's worth the drive. Any reports on what's going on down there? Are there at least mackerel and sardines for bait? Any action on bonito or shovelnose yet? Thanks in advance

I was out there on tuesday June 26 from 5PM - 7:30 pm for one lizard fish. It was pretty dead, no one getting anything besides a couple lizard fish here and there. I usually do good the morning hours there though. Water was dirtier than normal when I went a couple months before. If nothing is biting at Balboa, try driving to Newport Pier and try it there.
