Got to the lake about 8 Am and right away get a coast guard inspection before we could launch.
Had every thing except a distress flag and I bought one at the resort store for $5. That got me the CG safety sticker.
We launched and headed up to the narrows (almost 15 miles from the launch ramp) and put out our trolling rigs,
Took about 15 minutes for the first fish to hit the vibrating blade. Pulled in a fair white about 1-1/2 lb.
from then on we had a pretty steady bite of fair size fish on the blade and on the white curly tails as well as the chartreuse grubs.
Over the course of the day we boated at least 20 whites some that were small and were released, a couple of fair crappie as well as loosing a couple to an over zealous young man not waiting for me to net them and a number of spotted bass.
We brought home 28 fillets 4 of which were crappie.
Unfortunately my phone went dead so I didn't get any pics to share.
My grandson caught so many fish he was complaining his hands were tired from reeling them in.
