3/4 day on half of tuesdays Dana Wharf 6-12-12 late report

My little nephew was staying with me for a while and he has never been on a party boat like this so i decided to take him for getting good grades this year. He loved it fishing with live fish is what got him hooked i think. any ways we went down south passed san onofre and went i thnik it was areound ocean side. we were in the kelp to say the least!!! lots of cudas around mostly shorts though i hooked up with 2 legals and my nephew ryan hooked up with 2 legals also. Calicos were eating plastics with small jig heads they like the 1/4 oz and anything black and silver was working well for them i caught a few sand bass also same techniques. ended up catching 6 legal bass and 2 cudas. ryan caught 5 calicos i think, one that was super fat!!!!!! his cuda took jackpot though i almost stole it from him but he got it! im glad he won it his first time out it was really cool to see him so excited! My gf went with us also she was doing really well using the small plastics i think she caught 4 or 5 legals. lots of shorts!!!!!! we all caught around 20 fish each it was a great and really fun day! the captain kept saying stop using the life bait the plastics are going to work better my Ryan didnt wanna listen to that he wanted to catch cudas!! and he ended up catching all his bass on the live sardines too!!!! End of the day i was throwing a iron and caught a few more cudas only one legal i love catching fish on the iron!! great day of fishing God bless.

oh ya after we went and fished the harbor just to chill and wait out the traffic i caught a little hali my first on a lure so it was pretty cool. here are the pics!
