View Full Version : 6/19 Torrence/LBC,Quick Shots on The Drop Shot

Torrence 6am. walk down to the Main Bathroom area and spy out the

Conds. only to see 3ft. Waves with tons of Micro-Weed.

Get to chatting with a long time Local who swims regular, and he starts

telling me where some outrageous deep holes are !!! Real interesting but

with the Kelp, would not do me any good today !!!

Take off for LBC, where at least I won,t have to fight the weed !!!

7.30am arrival to a real heavy overcast sky, and when waders hit the water,

seemed to feel that the water was a little colder than as of late!!! Yet

waters were real clean ! Marine layer cleared about 11am. which means

it is clearing out more early finally !!!!

Caught two shorts on the drop shot before I left the area about 12pm.

New thing for me is, gonna just take real "Quick Shots" on the Shorts

with no measurements, and try to do that while they are still in the

water (as you can see in the second pic. )

Nice job adjusting to the conditions and overcoming. The weeds have been pretty outrageous down there. Way to go finding some action!

Nice fish. Drop shot works well in the weeds and the Wind.

Hmmmmm I have to probably resort to DS'n for now until the weeds clear ups some down here.

I just can't seem to put my LC's down and fish the DS. :Wink: Oh...I have all the gear....but I'm just not ready yet.

What got me started was,(not really an issue of being ready though either ) scopeing out a hundred yard long deep trench ,

about forty yards out on a med. high tide, but at low tide, found out it was five to eight feet deep !!! knowing the LC does

not dive real deep, . then switched to the drop shot to put the offering in their face !!! :LOL:

Now I know how addicting the feel of the LC is, but I can say also,when they hit the drop shot (even the little one,s ) it

creates a big time bendo !!! :Big Grin:

I've been fishing LBC a lot lately and its still producing a lot of shorts =)
It never disappoints.
