This Space Reserved  I know what you guys are up too.

Well here it is, the report some of you have been blowing my cell phone up over this afternoon.

Let me start with my NASCAR Driver interview thank you list.
I could put in some one liners from the movie Talladega Nights, like my tires held up great on the 101 and how my oil kept my motor running and the Mc Donalds breakfast kept me running bla bla bla. But seriously I do have a lot of folks to thank for the experience I had today.

This might turn out sounding like one of those actors getting an award on TV. But here it goes...

G-Mart, wherever you are, thanks for getting me into surf fishing.

Roy, Today's Wingman. We have done a ton of fishing the past couple of years. It's almost always you that catch the fish not me. Thanks for going today and all the other trips. Get back soon from up north.

The SWAT Team in general. Many thanks for bringing me into the Team. It's been great Fishing, BSing and just all around fun.

A shout out to Mr Mike aka Bones. One of your PMs a few years ago helped me very much, more than you know.

WingNut aka Arthur of course. Without your network of Recon specialist I never would of been there to catch that fish. Major Kudo's to you for being the rock you are.

And now for my personal Fishing Yoda, Mikey aka Exfactor.
Mike I went out there today to do battle with a Tanker. We all know what happen last weekend. Well I geared up and tossed the bigger baits on the bigger equipment like you said. Stuck with it in the Very Weedy water. Cast, Crank over and over. The idea did cross my mind to change, mostly because you all know by now, I am "Uncoachable". But didn't. However you have taught me to read the water better than I have ever. So I moved down the beach and found a slot between two boilers and a narrow gap in the weeds. A couple cast later is the reason for the report.

Thanks Guys for everything:Thumbs Up:

Speaking of reports......................................

Cloudy overcast morning
WEEDY WEEDY WEEDY
Warm water. At least warmer then where I normally fish.
WEEDY WEEDY WEEDY
Swimbait by Gary Yamamoto

Fish was a sub legal WSB 25" Released Unharmed of course.

Hey WWO

"This Space Reserved  I know what you guys are up too!!" Bill...this was way too funny! ha ha ha!

We wouldn't do that to you Bill! ha ha ha!

"Congratulations" on a fine catch my friend! A White Sea Bass! :Big Smile::Applause: Your long wait has finally ended!
Next.....let's get you on the leader board with a few legals....okay!

I believe that you have the makings of a new movie title here.....it goes sorta like this...."Hooked on WSB"! :Fishing Hole: Starring WWO!
Hopefully.... with many larger sequels to soon follow..... at a coast line near you folks! Look for him!

So....what did you think of it's fight? Did it put up a decent long battle? When did you realize it was a WSB? I'll bet you are still grinning.....aren't cha! I'm very happy for you and for your success today brotha......WTG! :Thumbs Up:

I noticed by the photo that your lure was all the way in it's mouth! Two of my four WSB were also hooked inside of their mouths. Seems kinda rare these days. I guess it all just depends on .....how the fish attacks the lure!

Thanx for the fun read with pic's Bill.

PS.....it was very nice to have had a chance to spend some time with you and your very lovely wife Noriko this past weekend at Lucas and Tammy's new place "Home Warming Party"/ B-BQ / B-Day Party. Good times were shared....indeed!

Good to see Roy come out of early retirement to join you, lol :Big Smile:
It was fun today guiding your session from my comfy office chair in the S.W.A.T. Command Center.

Hey Dan thanks for the all around good kidding.

Yea that fish might not of been a keeper, but he will grow up and keep giving Arthur fits.

That bait is in the mouth that's for sure. Its just a swimbait with one hook. Not much else I could of hooked him with today. The Weed was bad, so a single hook helped to reduce the chance of getting weeded up real quick. I liked the red on white as well. When all else fails throw a white color in most any water, fresh or salt.

The battle was really cool. I am just reeling in on about my 3rd or 4th cast after moving down to the next set of rocks and then bendo. That single hook went through the upper section and caused a lot of head shakes. My first guess was a good size Halibut. Pulled on him and it didn't run out like I was hoping, as in WSB. Just kept shaking for awhile then shot to the right and broke the surface. It was then I saw that purple color they have. I knew then what it was. The surf was pushing the fish around to the rocks so I just pulled him in quickly. The gear I was using had no problem with a little one like that.
Still grinning, you bet.
Thanks again Dan and your right the party was a lot of fun. Tell Rhonda Hi for us and take care of her.

Credits, Well you better take em when you can, the way I fish. The wife just asked where I want to go Yellowtail fishing for my Birthday next month:Smile: She will get all the credit for that trip.
Yep Roy was ready to go this morning. He hit the water hard today, maybe lost some of his Mojo being away from the water to much. He almost always out fishes me. Even you now and then......

The Command center was the Hot seat today. Thanks for the traffic control.

You went, you targeted the WSB's, and you caught. Arthur may have sent you running around the AO, but ultimately, you found em. And, your starting to think out of the box, a sign that perhaps you'll show me something down the road. Kudo's for going the extra mile. And, the all important engine part arrived at my casa today, which means we may be chasing the bigger models soon. I like to think pounds, instead of inches you know lol. Its time to go look at Gaviota!

I hope that part is all you need Mike. It has to be more than frustrating I am sure. Do you think we can improve on the fish from last year? They were big ens.

Hey Terry I caught it on that rod I bought from Chris after HGIII Maybe I got some luck from you guys when I bought it.
I hope that text didn't wake you up. Had to be after 9:30

The report:ROFL: Pretty simple. Sure could of been better, but it made the point. That was an equipment test anyway......

Thanks for the kind words and get out there, its fathers day this weekend. Don't let Arthur and Bones get em all. And get Chris busy on his classified assignment as well. Wow that was a lot of telling you what to do, my bad....:Big Grin:

WWO,

Good job on finding a sweet spot and working through the weeds.
Congratulations on your 1st surf WSB. (that ghost swallowed it)

By the way, it's great to see something else, other than an LC, being used in the surf.
Was there a particular reason on using BH instead, do you usually switch to it when there are more grass?
How successful has the hammer been for you in the surf?

Thanks for the report.

Nice job Bill! That's a sweet fish.
Sorry for not getting back to you sooner...long day at work, then stopped at the aqueduct on the way home to hunt striper, then ran into a long lost buddy & ended up catching up & having a few cold ones.
Gotta ask, why not use a larger jig head?
Also, I just got some sweet new jig heads & tails from a fellow aqueduct fisherman that makes them himself. His name is also Bill & his FNN name is Jig Guy. They're really nice, I'll put together a sampler bag for you...I think you'll be impressed.
Congrats again!

Way to go WWO! With Arthur calling in the attacks from his command post the enemy could run but could not hide. He keeps close tabs on the enemy locations at all times. I anticipate that you will soon capture the 28" or better suspect(s) you (we) are looking for. 8)

Great job with the Swimmie. Surprised more guys don't use them for Butts and Bass.
Congrats, DR

Thanks DR.
I was using a surface iron in the beginning which coupled with the heavier rod and reel would of had no issues with a Tanker had one been there. I didn't have the sink rate I wanted with it due to the weeds. Roy was using a Big Hammer Christmas tree colors and was hoping to get either a WSB or a Calico.
So after awhile I put on the biggest swimbait I had and found just the right spot. The sink was right and the bait swam right between a gap in the kelp. Got Lucky mostly.

I never even tossed the LC until the 2nd AO. The weeds were to bad. I used the Swimbait mostly because it has only one hook. Less to grab kelp with. It was a Gary Yamamoto SB and I just happen to pick some up the other day. I use them now and then, but mostly use an LC.

Thanks Jim, would of been sweeter if it 28+ just saying...

Hey don't worry about the late thing. I was loaded up Tuesday with my phone blowing up on the way home. Thanks Arthur:LOL: I was late on most of the text replies myself. I am glad we have FNN to catch up.

The jig head was what I had, and I liked that it was red. You can go back decades and see a lot of lures were designed with red/white combo colors. When all else fails that color combo has worked for me on all kinds of fish. Crappie, LMB you name it, and now a WSB :Big Grin:
I saw the text photo you sent me, those look promising from what I could see on my tinny phone screen. Will might need to try those out this weekend. Not sure what my schedule is yet. Kinda depends on my Yoda

Sorry that issue you have going is still giving you a problem. Or should it be, That problem still giving you an issue? I know you will pull through soon. Let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

Also its fathers day weekend coming up so be sure to take off the work hat for the day, and enjoy it with the family. If you can go fishing that's a good close second in my book.

Well you know how Mikey is, he's got me thinking POUNDS not inches right now. I hope we get the chance to find out here real soon. But either way a 30+ would be just fine.

Yea Frank, Intel Command Center, or the ICC said you made it out to the same AO. Tough conditions that's for sure. Keep at it, those weeds won't be there forever. Just hope the fish stick around awhile.
Good luck and TNX

Hey Thien, yea I saw the report you did with the swimbaits. Good work.

Your right about the fight. The fish I had hit and then went into a Halibut imitation, had me fooled for a few moments then shot off to the right hard and fast. No halibut at that point.:Big Grin:

Best of luck this weekend to ya

Ya always gotta have a back up plan. When I saw the weeds I went right to a surface iron. Nothing happen so I switched to the SB and found a slot for it to swim through and the rest is history.

Thanks Marc. I have learned more about surf fishing from people such as you. I didn't realize how good you were until getting to fish and talk together.
Say hi to your Dad for me. We had a short time to talk at lunch and really didn't get to say thanks.
