My aunt and uncle are visiting socal / watching my cousins kids, so I planned a meet up with them to do some fishing. i've been salmon fishing up north with my uncle since i was a little kid , so i was excited to take him on his first surf outing. it was also the first surf trip for my cousins, but they both have quite a few fish under their belts. We met up at the beach around 8am and right off the bat it was WFO on BSPs. conditions were a little rough but manageable till around noon when the salad came on full force. all and all it was a great trip and everyone killed it.

Uncle Phil was catching all the bigger fish.

Dylan had the numbers today and definitely caught the most.

Hi ya mrjonez,

One of the best things about surf fishing is that you can take your family, friends, the young and the not so young...ha ha!
Everyone always seems to have a good time!
It looks like your family not only had the perfect weather to be surf fishing..... but you guys also caught quite a few fish out there! WTG! :Thumbs Up:
Good times with the family.....and lots of good memories! Got to luv it!

Thanx for the enjoyable read with pic's!

Nice post. The weather and water look perfect.
Get yourself an LC lure and see what else is out there, I would bet a Halibut or 2 could be hiding in that water.

Good luck if you are still there.

The waves were pounding pretty good, but I saw something fly out of the water twice. I chucked a swimbait for a little trying to catch whatever was jumping but no takers.

If thats where I think it is, we were there previous weekend. Theres an inlet to the lagoon and brackish water. I saw what looked like mullet jumping a couple times. Great job getting the family on some fish! Something they'll remember for a long time I'm sure!:Thumbs Up:

Hey mrjonez,
Doesn't it always seem that kids and women always have the hot stick?!?
Next time down there, try the South side of that jetty or if it's in the near future, get some bean clams, tie em on and toss em from the pier.
I hear that the spot fins are heating up over there...
Thanks for the report,
Robert
