Here's a video that I shot of some baby Pacific Tarpon at a local pet store. No BS here these guys were swimming around in a 40 gallon tank.

How sad, those are all gonna die. Nobody has a tank big enough for those when they grow up

Well when someone catches a tarpon in the harbor, you'll get a good idea where they came from.

Yeah I hope those guys will go somewhere where they can thrive.

I forgot to mention that they each cost 100 bucks. :Big Smile:

Now....

Why would ANY pet store carry something that grows quite rapidly, and know requires a large tank and will ultimately end up in Long Beach harbor?

I think those are indo-pacific tarpon (megalops cyprinoides), not the tarpon you see caught in the Atlantic ocean (megalops atlanticus). The indo-pacific tarpon are much smaller and are actually fairly common in the aquarium trade. Regardless, a pretty large tank and experienced aquariast are required for them to thrive.
