When I was a boy, growing up in Washington state, we used to keep Californians as pets... not the snakes, but actual Californians. Seems kinda ironic now.

king snake...no venomous . They are kind of good to have around because they eat rattle snakes

I agree ... I think it's a California Kingsnake.
