Stopped by to check out the park and seemed really empty, and talked to a regular and he said its been dead the last 2 weeks. Anyone know if they will be stocking soon, or of another fishing spot near lancaster??

dont know anything about when apollo gets stocked since it's not done by the dfg but here is another thread where i posted a list of fishing spots near lancaster/palmdale area that might help...

Here are the closest spots to lancaster/palmdale:
Apollo Park (North-Western Antelope Valley)
4555 W. Ave G, Lancaster
* Man-made lake
* Stocked with rainbow trout from Winter through early Spring and catfish during the Summer months. There are also bluegill, largemouth bass, crappie, and carp located here. Generally stocked every two weeks.
* Annual fishing tournaments
Big Rock Creek (South Eastern Antelope Valley - Near Valyermo)
From Highway 138, take 165th Street heading South (165th street becomes Bob's Gap Road), Take Bob's Gap Road to Valyermo Road and turn left, Take Valyermo Road 1/2 mile to the fork in the road, Take the right fork onto Big Rock Creek Road.
* Open year round
* Adventure Pass required
* Dept. of fish and game stocks spring through winter with trout
* Stocked from Angeles Forest boundary upstream about 2 miles.
Bouquet Canyon Creek (South West of Antelope Valley)
Take Palmdale blvd. West (turns into Elizabeth Lake Rd.), Turn Left on Bouquet Canyon Rd. Creek runs paralell to Bouquet Canyon Rd.
* Open year round
* Adventure pass required
* Dept. of fish and game stocks from late spring through summer with trout
* Stocked from below Bouquet Reservoir downstream about 9 miles to Texas Canyon.
Castaic Lake (Near Valencia - about 1 hour from Palmdale)
Interstate 5 (take Lake Hughes exit.)
* Open sunrise to sunset year round (except Christmas)
* Fishing site located at lower lake
* Watercraft are allowed (rentals also available)
Elizabeth Lake (10 miles west of Palmdale)
* Natural lake
* Adventure pass required
* Frequently stocked with rainbow trout. Big bluegill and crappie are also caught in this lake.
Fin & Feather Club
600 E Avenue S Palmdale
* Requires membership
Jackson Lake (South East of Palmdale near Big Pines recreation area and Wrightwood)
* Natural Lake
* Open spring through summer
* Adventure pass required
* Non-motorized boats allowed
Lake Hughes (South West Antelope Valley)
Follow Lake Hughes road 20 miles until it Dead Ends. Turn right. Lake is located on the right side of the road about one mile from Lake Hughes Road.
* Natural Lake
* Lake contains Cat Fish, Blue Gill, Crappie, Bass and Red Ear Sun Fish
* Small watercraft allowed. (Nothing over 10 horsepower motors)
Littlerock Dam Reservior (Southeast of Palmdale)
Turn off Highway 138 about 4 miles west of Little Rock and go south on Chesboro Road to the Reservoir.
Pyramid Lake (Located near Valencia about 1 hour from Palmdale)
Interstate 5 (take Smokey Bear Exit), 20 miles north of Magic Mountain Amusement Park in Valencia, CA.
* Dam formed lake
* Personal water craft are allowed (50 max per day on lake)
Quail Lake (located west of the Antelope Valley)
Take the 138 West towards Interstate 5. On right side just before interstate 5
* Striped bass, stripers and catfish.
