S.W.A.T Brotha finally Gets LEGAL!

Quick Debreifing: Saturday: (1) short 21 1/2" Hali, (1) 8" BSP and (1) LEGAL 22 1/2" Hali. First legal of 2012!

Saturday 6-02-2012....Orange County, assaulted the spot from 0615 - 1230 hrs.
AO: classified
Session: feet wet at 0615 hrs and out at 1230 hrs.
Air temp: 59-63 degrees Fahrenheit.
Water temp: 67 degrees Fahrenheit. Clear, very little salad. Lots of bait jumping
Sun rise: 0542. Sun set: 1958 hrs.
Moon: waxing gibbous.
Surf: 1-2 ft, Swell: 1 ft, Sets: 16 secs.
Tide: IC 0600 hrs 2.0 ft, 0854 hrs 3.9 ft, 1354 hrs HLT 3.5 ft.
Terrain: flat, wide sandy beach with lengthy structures.
Assault tactics: St. Croix 9'-6", 8-17 lb, Shimano Stradic CI4 3000 reel with 55# Samurai 8-carrier braided line with a LC 110 Flash-minnow lure tied on with a Uni knot.

So....Hooked up with NT in OC at approx 0615 hrs, he was already in the water at 0600 hrs.
As I walked up on John.....He had already began grinning.... for he was releasing his first short Hali of the day from his first cast! WTG John!
John beached three (3) shot hali's this day! WTG John!

0630 hrs I get a tug and a head shake...and presto....21 1/2" Hali.....I'll take it!

0700 hrs I get tugged again.....but this time it sucked to the ocean floor...???...22 1/2"..finally my first legal hali of 2012! YAHOOO!!!

Nothing more than it was 3:40 in the morning. And I needed to get over to Exfactors house and pick him up. We did the Malibu fish dance today. BTW I don't dance very well. One of the others is going to post the report.

.....on that A.O. but you made the call for hittin up and it turned out as a really good morning........the surf was a little challenging which got me soaked a couple times, damn backwash, good thing the water is warming up......good times times buddy, thx :Wink:
That first flattie caught me off guard when I got it first cast, drag was backed off completly which had me doing some quick finger work getting it in and lashed down.....:Fishing Catch:

We fish together when ever possible and we enjoy each others company.... and in doing so we are creating a lasting bond of friendship. I guess another way that we also show this is by posting as soon as possible...sort of a special consideration to a (brotha) friend.

DR...why don't you come out and join us some time.....I would find it a pleasure to finally meet up with you....I know I've invited you to fish with me in the past and the offer still stands. I for one...would like to see if your fishing skills come close to matching your computer skills! ha ha ha!
