Dana Point Loking for some butts,..

Damn, I'm still tired as hell so this will be real short,.. Got to DP at 6, launched right away and got a kayak scoop from the bait barge, still $10 if anyone wants to know,.. we went out to the point near the kelp bed to see what wanted to bite. Cudas and WSB were boiling all over, all undersize. I did get a hook up on a fish that didn't wanna stop for shytt! LOL I finally put my thumb on the spool and POP! Of course, faulty knot on my part and i knew it! Next time,.. Soon as the bait ran out we went back in the harbor to get another scoop. We dropped our baits right by the barge, soon as the sun came out the halibuts were on the chew! I lost one nice one at color, got two barely legals and just one legal. My buddy Alfredo got a 28incher and a 26 inch that he "released" by accident LOL I gotta go back soon, hope you like the pics,.. peace!

launch from the boat ramp, its like $5 to park in there. easy launch off the ramp but make sure you guys use the ramp against the wall, let the boaters have some space,..

We've had our sailboat in DP harbor since the early 70's and that is one of the nicest Halibuts I've seen taken at the Harbor. We have an end tie and we see a lot of kayakers and tubers fishing and that fish is very nice. I'm going to have to break out the dinghy...
