Planned to fish the lagoon in the early afternoon but wind and the lake staff had other ideas, they had the lakes closed due to possible high winds, if anyone knows the way paradise cove is setup launching isn't a problem with most any kind of wind, it's were the ramp should have been made in the first place, will they weren't allowing boats to launch so I had to sit it out for a hour until it was figured out that the wind want going to get any worse.
Of course as soon as I went around tree point there was 6 ft seas... Lol
Made it down to the spillway area, stopping at the old csun dock for a couple fish, this area has been hot for more than a month but has cooled down since post spawn, still a few in there but most have moved out.
The wind was gusting to 20 at times just enough to make for some nice wind current in front of the rocks at the spillway, had a couple nice fish off that spot when I moved around the corner abut and tossed in the flickshake worm rigged whacky style and it got hammer right away by a good fish, really good fish, around the boat it went pulling drag and trying to get off, strong fish, latter I weighed it at just under 7lb.
Worked all the way back to the bouy line for 2 more than back to csun dock and then back to the cove, I had to be off early to cook tonight for the playoffs.
Picked off one more in paradise cove right in front of a mom and to young kids, they were more excited than me, showed them the fish, chatted and tossed a Crawdad on the stick out in front of the cove for nothing and got the trailer, had Johnthan the quagga mussel guy snap a pic of the big fish then released her.
