What a day. Got a call from drew saying my custom order was ready to be picked up. Met him in the am and headed up the hill with my dad again. Got the boat, connected the motor and were in the water at 820. Dad hooked up a nice brown on the inflated n/c. I soon followed on a derby holdover rainbow pushing 2lbs on a drews pink worm on the jig head. Winds picked up and my dad was killing the browns as we drifted off our spot. Guess what we did for the next 3 hours??? I called drew to tell him his worms dont catch browns and he informed me of some extra colors he threw in. I put on a brn w/ blk flake worm and soon I was catching browns. Final count was 38 trout with 29 being browns. All of our browns were released safely so they can do their job. Kept 4 small rainbows for the neighbors smoker, rest were released.

Final Count
Dad- 20 browns, 1 rainbow
Me- 8 rainbows, 9 browns

Great job on the fishing! Thanks for the report

Can you bring your own trolling motor and just rent a row boat? How much do they charge?

Thanks,

A few have of us have said that for a while, i'm glad to see others coming on board with this. Hopefully more will be doing the same thing.

it's just like the sierras, keep the rainbows and release everything else. I was talking to the ranger about our day and some guy came up saying the county stocked them to get people up to the lake. The look he got from the ranger was priceless. I think if they post signs saying their purpose and benefits more would get released.

Yes you can bring your own motor. I have a 36lb motor and it works fine on their boats. $40 for a full day and $20 for half. $15 for motor or battery. I use their batteries cause they last longer than mine.

good job on releasing the browns. They should really find a way to educate the everyone going up there as to why the browns were stocked.
