Hello,

I have been hitting up the local lakes (Laguna, Clark, Legg, Puddingstone, SGR (under the 60 fwy / peck)..etc) on the fly lately. Most lakes do not produce too well until August / September, but I have had some decent luck. I use my Echo 2wt, a various assortment of beadheads, and have a blast. I did score today, however, a decent bluegill at a local Orange County lake.

Thanks for reading

Beautiful Hybrid! That fish is gonna get huge.

give it a few years, and that lake will produce some nice redears. Clams are abundant there.

The gills' are coming out to play, but they're still not in strong numbers.

Thanks guys.

I agree with the "not in strong numbers" comment and ...Puddingstone is fairly easy to fly fish.

I do not eat the gills

...and on a side note...Legg Lake is starting to produce.

That is a very nice Bluegill. Are you using an indicator with your beadhead or just casting and stripping back?

@Mr. Madrigal
Thanks, and I agree. I recently caught a 9 inch Redear on my 2wt....that was a fight!
@Viejo
I do use, and have had success with both methods, however, I primarily use an indicator.
