Headed out at 4:30 AM this morning as I knew I had to be at my spot by 5:30 which is first light. First, yesterday I went out at the same time and it was sunny and clear. Yesterday was a bad day,got snagged, every spot I picked someone came right up on me. I moved two other times and both times someone came right next to me. I don't mind people fishing around me but shoulder to shoulder is not my idea of fun fishing. I like to be spread out some.I wouldn't do that to someone else fishing, I give people space. There is plenty of area to fish, why do they pick my spot? Rant over and got the big old skunk.
So, as I was saying Arrived at 5:10AM got my things ready and sure enough the timing was right. So I looked at the tide chart this morning before leaving and it said between 8AM-10AM would be really active. Made a mental note for later. Tide was two hours going out upon arrival, lots of salad, calm and OVERCAST. Yup, overcast makes the huge difference, yesterday being sunny early kinda stunk. Using 15# Pline green mono. Penn reel, I tie on the Lucky Craft Chartreuse 100 Pointer. No leader.
It took me about 2 and a half hours of casting and moving around before finally getting my target species. The Grey Ghost! It was an intense battle for only being a bit more then 19 inches, but she gave me a great battle.
It's nice to see they haven't gone to far.

It was a quick and clean release. It was a fun day and some dude down the way from me caught about 9 Sargo, 1 Opaleye, 1 Butterlip Perch all on Ghost Shrimp. He was busy!
Lines tight and below are the conditions if your interested. Lines tight and good luck out there.
