Went bluegill fishing for a couple hours and kept some for a buddy of mine. It's finally starting to pick up but not wide open. I would catch a few then the bite would stop and then I would have to find a new spot. Used a bobber with a 5 foot leader with a jig head and a mealworm. Is say did pretty well. Can't wait for the summer to catch hundreds of these little guys. I let atleast 20 go to just keep on working for them. Took one picture of the ones we kept.

That's a lot of fish cleaning ahead of you, looks like a few Red Ears in the mix.

Nice catch. There must have been at least 3 of you since I counted more than 50 panfish. The larger ones are mostly Redears from their appearance.

I have often fished exactly that same way, with a bobber, 5 foot leader, and a jig with a worm on it, except I use earthworms instead of mealworms. You didn't say if you were in a boat or on shore.

I think I need to get over there and fish that part of the lake more. I used to fish there a lot (mostly on jetty over there), but the lake changed a lot when they lowered the water. There are still a lot of fish around there, though.
