The 2012 Masters Tournament Trail was truly was a test of ones angling ability. Allmost every tournament had some form of weather going on. Today was the Masters Championship was no diffrent as a heat wave decended down upon Irvine Lake. Fishing was red hot in the morning and afternoon as some anglers reported limiting out by 10:00am! Their was an absolute ton of fish in the 1.8-2.2 class. Just who would come out on top was the question on everybodys mind?

Congrats on the win. With all the trophy blue catfish biting this week the water must be getting pretty warm. Just a suggestion for the future, maybe bumping up the date a week or two earlier, might get some of the big boys to the scale.

Dan, no kidding the fishing was outstanding and a day like non other i've seen at the lake. Yeah it was a dink fest but sometimes thats just the way the cookie crumbles. Think I was limited out by 8am while my partner only had one. After that I let my partner use my leadcore rod and got him his limit by 12pm. I saw a 15lb trout swimming back-and-forth under the rental when I was turning our boat in. I saw multiple DD carp all over the place. The lake is so clear at one point we saw a large school of massive DD wipers (probably 20 or so) on a feeding frenzy just smashing on a large bait ball. Fishing this coming weekend and summer is going to be exceptional, I cant wait!

Proud of my girl Danielle for reeling her way into the top 10! I was hoping it was luck so I didn't suck so bad but I've now got to admit that's she's better at fishing than me, lol. I'm better at fantasy football though! LOL
