I don't want to spend a bunch of money...

I think they're bearing supported knobs, so you should be able to switch the grips out to some septons.

Calling Shimano would probably be the best way to go.

Yeah. I called them right after I posted. You can use the Curado 200E handles. $20 shipped. Not too bad. I got 2 for $38. It's worth the money IMO. I hate those knobs. The reel is pretty good, but I will stick with the higher end stuff from here on out.

Yeah, what I don't get is.....

Why on EARTH would Shimano put bearing supported knobs on a low end reel, but then not put bearing supported knobs on most of their higher end reels?

I was amazed at the fact the Caenon, with its graphite frame and non-HEG gearing, has bearing supported knobs.

The knobs are OK if you are constantly reeling, but they suck for stop and go techniques. They are too small.

You know you could've just ordered these right? For my Caenan I just added these knobs and man does it make reeling some much more comfortable.

I didn't know those reel grips fit round foam knobs.

I thought they were more for the Septon-style knobs that Shimano normally rolls with.

I take it, it's $20 for the complete handle (knobs included)???

Nah, those grips work very well for those foam knobs.
