Big bear lake spawning time ?

I was wondering when the large-mouth and small mouth spawn up there. I was thinking of getting my boat in there to catch some nice smallys. Can anyone out there fill me in ?

They probably will start in May. The smallies may start a bit earlier. The water is still too cold for them to start bedding. Protip: The ones east of the cutoff will start to spawn first.

Bass are showing & a couple small beds here & there but with this 2ft of snow we just got Im with Skyler on this one.

Hey, Cameron, what's the word on the carp activity up there? Have they started cruising yet? My arrows crave carp blood, he he he.
