I was visiting family for easter dinner and have 2.5 hours to kill. I stopped by Yorba Linda Regional Park Lake with my wife and we gave it a shot.
We fished the middle lake for bass throwing crankbaits and plastics. Saw about 4-5 bass in the shallows making their beds. One was about 5 pounds+. However, non of them were interested in what we had to offer. They were about 5-10 feet from shore. Everyone was throwing everything at them and the park was PACKED with people. i guess those bass just didn't want to be bothered. It was the afternoon as well.
Then i moved over to the next lake and decided to give trout fishing a chance.
This was a perfect play as I only have an hour left. My wife and I caught 3 rainbow trout about 12-14 inches in our last hour. We kept 2 and released the 3rd. The 3rd one was caught as I was packing everything up and leaving so it was a perfect surprise! It was a fun time and will be out there again!
