Sorry, this is not a fish report. :Wink:

The original plan was to launch a massive surf assault with all S.W.A.T. members on the sand at grey light and then have the party in the afternoon. But high swells and dangerous conditions kept us out of the surf Sunday morning. :Neutral:

S.W.A.T. Central Command decided to abort the surf session and instructed everybody to meet at Sid's house at noon for the gathering. So, I attended Palm Sunday morning Mass and headed over to Sid's place early to help him set-up for the party.

Sid (Sidified) had asked me, actually, insisted that if he could host the gathering at his beautiful home. Sid, thank you for being such a wonderful host. Your family went above and beyond the call of duty to make all the S.W.A.T. members, along with our friends and family feel so welcomed in your home. Everything was absolutely perfect and we appreciate you and your wife's (Bobbi) generosity very much! :Big Grin:

Awesome gathering to say the least. First of all...a special thanks to Sid and Bobbie. You two are so kind and down to earth. Good people to say the least!
The food and laughs were overwhelming and it was great to just hang out. The poker game was a success as well and Tess proved that she can hold her own in a group of crusty surf folks.

Sid and Bobbie, my dad and I want to thank both of you for hosting us! You were both so gracious throughout the entire event, and did everything to open your home to us Sunday. My dad and I had a lot of fun catching up with familiar faces, and getting to know a few of the guys we haven't had a chance to fish with as much a bit better. It was fun playing poker, and while I lost, seeing Tess and Robert play for first at the end was definitely a highlight of the day.

Good friends, good food, good times really sums up the SWAT ethic, and all those were there Sunday.

Can't wait to do it again soon!

first of all, many many thanks to sid and bobbie for welcoming us into your beautiful home and for your warm hospitality. :Big Grin: the food was delicious (especially the ice cream with frangelico :Wink:) and we all had a blast. it was great hanging out with my S.W.A.T. brothers "off the surf" and it was nice meeting some for the first time.

of course, the poker game was the highlight of the day... but it was so nerve-racking! :Shocked: when it came down to me and robert, i couldn't believe it. i honestly thought i would be one of the first to go. :Confused: but it turned out to be a lot more fun than i expected. :Envious: good game, everyone!! :Razz:

we should definitely get together like this more often. someone mentioned a beach bbq during the summer?

Thanks so much for the plearuse to attend your hosted "SWAT" gathering at you lovely residence. When I arrived it seemed like I was in Kansas with "Dorthy & Todo" in the front yard. When I enterded you home I was greated like I was a part of your family and upon entering your backyard shelterd paradise it was like being in a rain forest!

The whole afternoon was so relaxing from start to finish. The highlights were a many from the hospitality. great food, games, and so many laugh's getting to know each other better, and the unfounate part of the time it was to depart and go our own ways!

After seeing Nick get you to sign the album, I spent no time on FNN last nigh but lot's of time on "Youtube" enjoying you past!

Thanks to all the SWAT crew for showing and making this a great day! We were shutout in the surf this day but we all come out winners with our friendships and common goals!

That was a really fun party! Don't think there has been an event where as many of my SWAT brothers and sisters has been present as this. I'm impressed with how our group of
ragtag surf warriors create such a strong and energetic aura when we are around each other, and can see why we are so successful at our craft. Alot of positive energy, and all
smiles and giggles throughout the day.

Sid and Bobby were such great hosts to many of us who had never met, and gracious at every turn. I would be hopeful we can endeavor to do this again soon, and make it a part
of our itinerary. The drive home was awesome, watching big waves get their tops blown off of em for 30 feet! There was even an accident from people not paying attention to the road. The northern contingent gives 2 thumbs up to our hosts, and our small army of craftsmen.

What an awesome day. Sid and Bobbie were wonderful hosts and the BBQ was top notch. I tried everything and stuffed my face full. I must have had two handfuls of the grape leaves, thanks Chris! Thanks to Marc and Nick for the beers and Robert for the sashimi. The egg rolls were great, Arthur, tell your mom that I gluttoned myself with them and loved every second of it. It was great to meet and see everyone again, even bein a prospect, I felt the warmth. Jina also wanted to make a point to make sure I told everyone thank you as well, and that she had a wonderful time. I have a month left here in SoCal, and I hope to make it to the water with as many people as I can!

Well, finally, I'm able to come up for air and be able to thank you ALL for coming out to what was the highlight hang of the year for me.

I finally got to put faces with names. I'm much better now!
That was just a technicality of course... Getting to bond in friendship with just a stellar group of banditos was the real treat, and an honor for Bobbi and me. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to be able to count you among my friends.
All the pictures and postings are just priceless..I love the ones of Maddy... They will make for great memories... though some of them might be considered 'hard evidence'..lol
