Fished Dana point jetties from 11am- 3pm. Type of gear was ultra carbon light 9" pole from bass pro shop and on 6lb test. Bought this pole for surf perch, but recived a halibut today. What a gift from the sea gods. Sucker bit on a small big hammer perch grub in motor oil w/red flakes. Amazing, this is the first for me to see a nice 18" hail biting on a small perch grub.
Amazed I am. I did not know hail would eat small grubs but that showed me. 6 lb test was my lightest gear I ever caught a hail on. Can't believe I brought him up with 6lb test on the rocks. Amazed.
That was the only fish I recived for the day, but I had some bite but missed.

Seems like the seasons are getting better. Yes yes. That means, we must get out more!
